Sound Destruction: TAKE DOWN

A presidency that "restores honor and dignity to the White House"?!?! My pampered ass it is!

Scooter Libby, Cheney's Chief of Staff has resigned having been indicted on
- 1 count obstruction of justice

- 2 counts false statement

- 2 counts perjury

Fitzgerald has a press conference scheduled for 2pm EST and Joe Wilson's attorney following that. My initial thoughts. I'm dissapointed that Rove wasn't indicted today, but he's not out of the woods yet. Even still, think about this. If Libby doesn't plead and this goes to trial, Cheney is at the center of this and will have to testify. The Vice President of The United States. And in doing so, guess what they'd go digging for? Records pertaining to the the administration's carefully crafted "justification" leading up to the war in Iraq.

I'm afraid that if offered, he will take a plea.
Of course, they have to offer it first.
That would completely rule if they did not, it went to trial and Dick had to testify.

YES! Let the good times roll.

And Meirs went down in flames. 'Course old Georgie boy will give us someone worse than her, but I'm happy for the moment.

And you know Bush would issue a pardon before letting Cheney testify.

Besides, Bush will never be impeached (which is what SHOULD happen, you know for an illegal war).

I mean, god forbid Clinton get what everyman wants (Wives? Step it up!), but Bush can fucking invade countries and get kids in the reserves killed, you know, because that's what God would do.

I'm scared.

This kind of administration is the Orwellian, 1984 style, kind of shit they make up in fiction.

Mike - I'm inclined to think they won't offer a plea unless he'll roll big time and you and I both know that'll never happen. Fitz said the indictment established that Libby was at the head of the phone chain, but he also made it clear it's important, no imperative, to figure out the "why" aspect of this situation and that information will come out in the course of testimony and records during Libby's trial. Then it will be Fitzmas all over again!

TLP - Let The Good Times Roll. Not only is that a completely spot on idea, it was also my 8th grade graduating song (The Cars - Aral would know it).

TLM - Dirty, dirty politics. Sickening. Wonder how that would influence '08. Hmmm.

Ev- Agreed, the hypocricies are astounding.

Doug - Indeed she is. Now, care to weigh in on today's news?

Karma - Dont' worry, I can't speak to the politics in India so don't feel bad. Just sit back and enjoy the rants. And hey, feel free to throw in a Bush sucks here and there, and you'll fit right in. :)

I imagine that prison won't be easy for a man named "Scooter."

Libby's trial should be a doozer. Let the shit start spilling out. Hopefully Libby's trial will bring out enough dirt to indict Rove and Cheney and their little hood ornament, George or whatever his name is.
