WELCOME BACK!

(Were the sweathogs always this, er, chummy with Ooh, Ooh, Ooh, Mistah Kattah! ??)

Mr. Kotter from Welcome Back Kotter has been named the "Most Memorable Teacher on Television" by Inside TV magazine. Following second in their top ten list was
Edna Krabapple from The Simpsons (read the balance of the top ten list here).

Cheers to Mr. Kotter and to the 2 wonderful teachers who welcomed my girls back to school today.

WOO-FRICKIN A-HOO!!!

Doug - and now they'll be stuck in your head all day!

Araider - Did you use it to hide things in like test answers?

Mike - Peace man! I loved Howard Hessman as that hippy dude teacher (I can't remember his character name and I'm too lazy to look it up). And wasn't Robin Givens in that class?

Right! Remember when Robin Givens married Mike Tyson and everyone was like, Mike Tyson is marrying the girl from Head of The Class.

I was always intrigued with Welcome Back Kotter, mostly because of the characterizations and the NYC/Brooklyn thing.
I still remember that one sign they showed on the opening credits that was like "Brooklyn, the 6th largest city in the US" or something like that.
Even as a young person, the city itself always intrigued me all the way out here in CA and I couldn't wait to be old enough to travel there for a visit and have been several times since.

I stole the vast majority of my time-killer jokes from the show's epilogues.

Mike & Doug - congratulations, you both have succeeded in making me feel sufficently old! But default that makes you old too. So there. Just don't let it happen again. ;)

Gabriel - I'm not sure I believe you, strikes me as too wholesome to serve as inspiration for you.

Araider - I got a note!

I do remember this:
When Barbarino was running for Class Prez, his slogan was "Vote for Vinnie and nobody gets hurt"
