And the walls come tumblin down! Excellent find, Strider.

(I still think the 5 word link in Strider's original post is hillarious if not a bit vulgar.)

I personally can't wait until the appeal of this sham of a case is heard before the new Roberts court.

Oh, and could someone over here explain why the Dems couldn't muster up 30 votes in opposition?

Mike, I didn't think of that. You are absolutely right.

The Dems couldn't muster thirty votes because a.) they seem to have "returned from the vet" ever since the election, and b.) they're afraid that if they nix Roberts, Bush will retaliate with someone even worse.

The problem most people seem to have with Roberts is that he's...well, conservative, almost typically so. Well fuckin' DUH. As I see it, it could have been much, MUCH worse. The man he is replacing is no different. This will present no change. Bush has effectively held down his fort on this one, and nothing more. This one wasn't worth the battle. Now the NEXT one...*THAT* one will be worth raising hell over. And Hell SHALL be raised.

tlm, what makes you think this is a sham of a case?
Please don't start with the talking points about Ronnie Earl that Fox-Bush Toadies like Hume have been throwing around.
They seem to leave things out like he's prosecuted 4 times as many Dems as Repugs.
He's going after DeLay because he's dirty.
And it's just beginning.
I have a feeling Fitzgerald is going to be bringing indictments down on a shitload of dirty Bush cronies in Washington.
It will go deeper than what we know about the Plame case.

In response to Mike V The sad thing is, though, that they'll all get pardoned by GWB or a future GOP prez ala' Bush Sr and his Iran-Contra cronies. Dammit.

True, Shea.
And, since Roberts is now the Top Dog of the SCOTUS, guess who would be presiding over any impeachment hearings??
