WE DON'T NEED NO STINKIN' STADIUM

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Remember how embarrassing it was when The Apprentice contender Tana didn't have an American flag for NY Governor Petaki to carry during her assignment to run the NYC2012 Athlete Challenge (a VIP sports exhibition at the Chelsea Piers to promote New York City's bid to host the 2012 Summer Olympic Games)?

Well, she's not the only one coming up short in this bid. Seems New York City doesn't have a stadium for Opening & Closing ceremonies or Track & Field events. But never fear my fellow Americans, because just across the river, New Jersey offered to help by extending use of their not-yet built stadium.

No wonder the world thinks we're morons.

Very smooth.

I can't imagine they're quite ready to invite the world in yet, either. They're still pretty jumpy... I wonder how this will play out?

The worst thing about that was GOP Mayor Mike Bloomberg saying this after it was decided that no stadium would be built: "Declaring that opponents of a West Side stadium "have let down America," Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg said yesterday that the city's Olympic prospects were all but dead and that New York had suffered a blow to its collective psyche." From here.

It only goes to show ya, if you don't agree with a GOoPer, then you hate America.

Jen - I see your point, and I think in turn the world would be equally jumpy in light of recent events. Thanks for stopping by & hope you'll visit again!

CW - Yes, how very unpatriotic of them. Frankly, I'm surprised the NYC bid made it as far as it did with no stadium or building approval.
