WASHINGTON - U.S. military officials say no guard at the Guantanamo Bay prison for terror suspects flushed a detainee's Quran down the toilet, but they disclosed that a Muslim holy book was splashed with urine.

Our government's been pissing on the Constitution since 2001. I'm sure they splashed a little on the Koran in the process.
They still apply that old Reagan-era trickle-down theory to everything.
Oh I see, so Newsweek had to pull it's story because of pissing symantics. And didn't administration saying that the Newsweek story had damaged the image of America. There continues to be egg on the collective face in Washington, yet our country as a whole doesn't seems to care. How wrong is that?!
Nedhead, you're right there is a case to be made for not taking care of our own (poverty, job loss, environment, etc., etc.) And I also the think outright ignorance of human rights coming at our own hands at places like G-Bay & and Abu Ghraib is deplorable and certainly does nothing to promote our presence as a nation trying to promote freedom & democracy.
But if we want to asign aggregious behavior, I think we need to look no further than the ongoing hypocracies of this administration. These military findings, which are in stark contrast to the comments made by the administration who cried foul not a week earlier, are just the latest example.
How many hypocracies does it take to make a country question the effectiveness of their rosy glasses and cry foul in return?

Its really interesting to hear out the voices of peopel like you.. i just wish if it was louder..
i will try to yell louder but my voice gets hurt sometimes from yelling too much.
thats why i try to get others to help me yell...so i dont have to yell so loud.
