W. Mark Felt, who retired from the FBI after rising to its second most senior position, has identified himself as the "Deep Throat" source quotedbyTheWashington Post to break the Watergate scandal that led to PresidentNixon's resignation.if you dont know about watergate click here.

I religiously followed the Watergate debacle through the hearings and the investigation. I always hoped I'd outlive Deep Throat because it was one of my life goals to know his identity. I'ts almost like Watergate couldn't really be over until we knew who Deep Throat was. So, you are NOT the only one. :)

I agree that this is pretty amazing. Watergate was so devastating to republicans that they have been trying to recover for years. They even admitted that they went after Clinton to seek revenge (the "vast right-wing conspiracy" they deride was true by their own admission). Thanks to republican treachery, all scandals since have had the suffix "-gate."
